Dr. Mufaddal Gombera is a renowned orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, arthroscopy, and treatment of shoulder, hip, and knee injuries. A Houston native, his personal experience with an ACL injury during high school ignited his passion for this field.
Following medical school at Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Gombera honed his skills through rigorous training at the University of Michigan for orthopedic surgery and Northwestern University for sports medicine and arthroscopy. His expertise in treating sports-related injuries is further evidenced by his role as assistant team physician for the Northwestern football team, Chicago Cubs, and Chicago Blackhawks.
Since joining Texas Orthopedic Hospital and Fondren Orthopedic Group in 2015, Dr. Gombera has been at the forefront of advanced orthopedic care. He leads the Hip Preservation Center, collaborating with a team of specialists to provide comprehensive hip pain treatment. Committed to sharing his knowledge, Dr. Gombera is an active researcher and educator, serving as a clinical assistant professor at UTMB and team physician for Texas Southern University.
